  2. Contribution to winning or being nominated for at least one prestigious international fashion award for excellence, such as The Fashion Awards or CFDA Fashion Awards.

  • Proof - The applicant must demonstrate participation in at least two runway shows, presentations, or exhibitions within the past five years. These events should be recognized as internationally significant in the applicant's field of fashion design.

  • Evidence - The applicant must provide evidence of substantial international distribution and sales within the last five years. This evidence should demonstrate sales through internationally renowned retailers and boutiques, or through the applicant's own physical retail outlets or ecommerce platform.

2) Exceptional Promise - An individual showing promise as a future leader, proven by their skills and achievements.

  • Media Recognition - The applicant needs to provide two or more instances within the last five years where their fashion collections were recognized by the media in the UK or internationally. This recognition can be in the form of articles, reviews, or features from well-known newspapers, TV channels, or social media. It's important that these sources are independent, and if from social media, they should be from influential bloggers or opinion leaders.

*Note: Listings of events or advertisements won't be accepted as evidence.

  • Support and Sponsorship - Evidence is required to show that within the last five years from the year of application, the applicant received support and sponsorship from various organizations. This support could have come from the British Fashion Council's support schemes, the Fashion East support scheme, the Sarabande Foundation, the Centre for Fashion Enterprise, or similar support from an international counterpart to the British Fashion Council.

  • Orders - Documentation indicating one or more purchases made by luxury retailers and boutiques in the UK or abroad within the past five years.

  • Industry Recognition - The applicant needs to show proof of two or more times in the last five years where important people in the fashion industry recognized their exceptional graduating collection. These people could be famous fashion designers, stores, brands, or events like Graduate Fashion Week.

Processing Time:

  • Standard processing can take up to 8 weeks.

Post-Endorsement:

  • If endorsed, the applicant will receive an email with an endorsement letter from the home office, necessary for the visa application.
  • The applicant must apply for the visa within three months of receiving this endorsement.


If an endorsement is not granted, individuals have the following options:
