Who Decides

The Tech Nation endorsement body

For the digital technology route, your case is reviewed by Tech Nation, the official UK endorsing body designated by the Home Office. Their assessors decide whether your profile meets the criteria for Exceptional Talent or Exceptional Promise. The Home Office then issues the visa based on the endorsement letter.

Endorsement Logic

Arts Council England endorsement criteria

Arts Council England assesses your case against three main areas. A strong application needs more than longevity in the field — it needs a clear evidence strategy showing recognition and impact.
Criterion 1

Recognition

Evidence of national or international recognition in your field.
Example evidence
Press, reviews, awards, exhibitions, performances, commissions, festival selections and fellowships.
Criterion 2

Active contribution

Ongoing contribution to the sector beyond your own practice.
Example evidence
Teaching, mentorship, judging, programming, advisory roles, public lectures and residencies.
Criterion 3

Recommendation letters

Two letters from established figures in your field, including one from a UK-based expert or institution.
Why it matters
These carry significant weight in the ACE review and must speak credibly to your standing.

The strongest applications connect every document to a criterion

Each piece of evidence should map to a specific criterion and explain why it proves recognition — or potential — at the required level.
Deliverables

What Tech Nomads prepares for your endorsement

We prepare the materials needed to turn your career into a structured endorsement case for Arts Council England. Every document should have a purpose — we connect your evidence to the criteria, explain the impact clearly and remove material that may dilute the case.

After Endorsement

What we prepare after endorsement

After endorsement, the case moves into the visa application stage. This is regulated UK immigration work, handled exclusively by Tech Nomads Limited, an IAA-regulated UK immigration firm. Everything before this stage is non-regulated commercial work.

Endorsement ≠ Visa

Being endorsed does not grant the visa. You must submit a separate visa application within 3 months of receiving your endorsement letter.

FAQ

Global Talent
Visa FAQs

Each answer cites GOV.UK or Tech Nation as the source.

Who is eligible for the Global Talent Visa?

You may be eligible if you are a leader or potential leader in digital technology, arts and culture, or academia and research. For the digital technology route you usually need endorsement from Tech Nation, unless you qualify through an eligible prestigious prize.

Is it hard to get a Global Talent Visa?

It can be challenging because the endorsement application is evidence-heavy. The hardest part is often proving impact beyond normal employment and connecting each document to the right Tech Nation criteria.

How much does it cost to apply?

The GOV.UK application fee is £766, split into £561 for endorsement and £205 for the visa application. Applicants also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge, usually £1,035 per year per person, paid upfront for the chosen visa duration.

Can I do any job on a Global Talent Visa?

You can work as an employee, be self-employed, become a company director, change jobs without telling the Home Office, and travel in and out of the UK. You cannot work as a professional sportsperson or access most public funds.

Do I need a job offer?

No. The digital technology Global Talent Visa does not require a job offer or a Certificate of Sponsorship.

What is the difference between Exceptional Talent and Exceptional Promise?

Exceptional Talent is for established leaders. Exceptional Promise is for earlier-stage candidates with strong leadership potential. The route affects the settlement timeline: usually 3 years for Talent and 5 years for Promise.

How long does the process take?

Tech Nation endorsement decisions usually take 5 to 8 weeks. Visa decisions usually take around 3 weeks from outside the UK or 8 weeks from inside the UK, after identity checks and document submission.

What happens if endorsement is refused?

You may request an endorsement review. You can also consider rebuilding your evidence and submitting a new application, depending on the refusal reasons and your immigration timeline.
